Emma felt her breath catch.
She stared at the screen for a long time, hoping her eyes were deceiving her. Hoping it was a trick of the glass or a coincidence of angles.
The truth had not appeared suddenly.
It had been there all along.

In that quiet kitchen, memories began to rearrange themselves.
The late nights.
The constant phone messages.
The emotional distance she had tried so hard to ignore.
None of it felt confusing anymore.
What hurt the most was not the realization itself.
She had simply been too afraid to name it.
